This post is about wargaming conventions and where I need to go to find them.
Might sound strange to some of you.
Being that I’m extremely new to wargaming in general, my choice at the moment being Warhammer 40k, I really have never been to any. I will say that these will have to be in the United Kingdom, ideally England, even more ideally not to far from London/Essex. But yeah anyways on to it, I see so many people mention them and I keep meaning to check it out but never do, which is where you come in. Due to most of you having years more experience in the scene than me I would really appreciate some ideas on places to go and such as I really want to venture out further than Warhammer 40k. I want to see what’s out there a bit more, my limited experience outside of Warhammer being D&D many years ago and such like games.
So if any of you guys know of any wargames con’s in England that you think’s worth me knowing about, post a comment where I would need to go and such like. Even if it were a small thing you know of or something you organise, that would be awesome to.
I will be going to Games Day UK this year but I don’t want that to be the only thing I check out.
It would be greatly appreciated and I hope to get lots of replies on this.

I'm not too sure about happenings in the UK as i don't live there. Would very much like to visit though :)

The guys at 40K UK discuss a lot about tournaments and events. They also have their own podcast.

The other event i heard lots about is the UK Salute. I think this year's has passed but its definitely an event to try attending next year. I came across this link from the Wargamer's Society.

You can't go far wrong with Salute, it's a huge mini wargames con held each April in London. They also have a huge number of traders there as well as competitive games & painting.
