Ironclad Dreadnought: Happy With The Yellow

So after I got really angry with the way it turned out I've now turned that frown upside down today haha.

I went back over with a few new water downed layers of yellow and it looks much better.

Added a little battle damage and now I'm happy with it again.

Now just to clean up messy bits and paint the melta and it's done.

Then it's on to the Drop Pod.

For some reason I'm not looking forward to painting that?

Anyway back to the Ironclad.

Should I be right in being happy with it at the stage?

Granted clean up is needed.

Give me your feedback!

Thanks!

  1. Looks good.
I think the changes are just right mixture of battle damage and yellow.

  2. Yup. Looks good. Can't wait to see it fully marked up in Fists' heraldry.

  3. I am really impressed. Your battle damage really does break up the yellow and help out. My one bit of criticism is the feet. They don't seem to have much shading in the recesses and so look more like lumps of yellow. Perhaps it's just the picture. Either way, great mini.

  4. I like! good worn & weathered look. Maybe a bit of dust/mud on the feet will complete that? Because at the moment its worn but clean

  5. Way to go!

I'd paint the mechanicus emblem on the engine black and white. It really breaks up the rest and looks neat:)

  8. its a good start :) however it looks like well:

    a banana :P

now bananananana's are not bad :P, infact they are a good source of vitamins and 1 of your 5 a day!
BUT bananas are not good for 40k, and the dread need some shading! possibly a brown wash/glaze on the very lowest part of the armour. and if you want a better effect thin the glaze again and do glaze a larger section, and repeat until it is nicely shaded :) (remember to keep the glaze superthin!)

    hope this helps!
