Beginnings Of My Custom Sternguard.....

So I did this guy last night and thought I'd post him up. I like the way the combi-melta looks but still got to add the nozzle of the bolter back on. The arms are from the Forge World character upgrade pack.

So what you think so far? I'm going to be using tac marines for all of them with added purity seals and cloths and such as I have an abundance of them. And they'll all have veteran shoulder pads so I think after that they should pass for sternguard. I used Storm Bolter clips for the bolters to make them look like they have special ammo.

Already having fun with this to be honest.

Thanks!

  1. Try to use some those spiky (?) shoulder pads - you know with the kind of rivets on them, they would definitely add to the look of being sternguard, if you have any of course. Looking good so far!

  2. Looks real cool. Adding all sorts of bits and bobs is a good way to make them stand out.

  5. If I was you, I would add studs on legs or shoulderplates, and add some additional armour. They are veterans, so they deserve all the extra stuff they need to demolish the enemy ^^
But it looks good so far :D
